Them Damn Dogs are back on The Spicecast to show off their new album Let Loose recorded right here at Spice Rack Studios!

Combining elements of Surf Rock, Reggae and good old fashioned Hard Rock Soul, Let Loose is culmination of years of work and collaboration by a very talented group of musicians from different musical backgrounds. We’ll hear “Too Birds, Too Stoned”, “Why Control Myself”, “Can’t Wait”, and “Bloody Knuckles”

Our first ever Alternative Ambient artist to be interviewed, Jovani Occomy works with musicians and producers from as far away as France to as close as Huntsville Alabama. Jovani uses her love of acoustic guitar and mixes various beats and rhythms to end up with a sultry and smooth musical presentation. On this episode we hear “What Do You Want to Be? Raw.”, “Maybe You’re Right”, “The Worst” and “Dandelion Featuring Tüelpa”

-Before All About the Tones even got together as a band they set one thing straight. They were going to make great music and they weren’t going to let egos, space, time or anything else imaginable get in the way.

Composed of Sean and Jason Lowery and John Birdsong these once metal-heads are now cranking out a sweet hybrid of Jazz infused prog rock that sticks in your brain. The guys dropped by Spice Rack Studios armed with never before heard tracks off their new album, Prodigious, coming out this month, September 18th, everywhere.

We hear “McFly” and “There It Is” off of their first album Demo Dayz, “Shia Labeouf” and “Perfect Day” off their new album, Prodigious.

Madison artist Float first picked up the can in Amsterdam to do his first Graffiti pieces. Now he’s on the other side of the fence and turned to mixed media of all types. Floats art combines strong colors, distinct contrast and iconography all inspired by his love for street art.

Float’s art table can be found all sorts of places, from the Huntsville Library, a variety of pop conventions and holiday markets around the valley. We talk to Float about his journey from street art to adapting his style to find a place inside the buildings he used to tag.

-A spicy taste of Sam Lewis’ cool blend of genres recorded right here at Spice Rack Studios. Huntsville guitarist Sam Lewis combines country picking styles, bluesy melodies and a myriad of musical influences to bring you unique tunes that are impressive technically and satisfying lyrically.

You can hear him live this Saturday at Flying Monkey along with visual artists and vendors. Today we hear “Two Free Birds, One Big Sky”, “The Filthy Low-Down Blues”, “Backyard Dogs” and “Toothbrush”.

-Jon Storm’s music combines rockabilly, the oldest church hymns and straight ahead southern Rock’n’Roll. Originally from Huntsville and then touring the south and even spending some time in LA. He’s now working on his fourth album “Tracks” to be released this year. We Hear “Come on Home to Me”, “Memphis Bound Train”, “Love Is You” with Jackie Glyn, “Music on the Mountain”, and “Everybody Needs a Little Rock’N’Roll”.

-Chris Wade, a visual artist as well as a skilled guitar player, dropped by Spice Rack to talk about his creative process and play us some new tracks. Chris’ music combines classical guitar styles with hand percussion techniques all with the aim of producing songs encapsulating atmosphere and nostalgia. We hear “Marymont”, “Hide-away”, “Tomorrow is a New World”, and “Waves of Stuff”

-The Spicecast Features the Harlquin Jazz Band in all their swingin’ glory! You might have seen them playing outside the Alabama Hammer’s game, or breaking it out at one of the many swing dances around town, check them out tonight and find out what all the fuss is about! Kameron, Sarah, Austin and Josh of Old Nick and the Gypsies are back in Spice Rack Studio once again to promote their new album coming out later this summer! We were lucky enough to record some brand new tracks as well as sit down and chat with the gang about the construction of the album.
